Security Impact Glass Intro

Blast Resistant Glass (Shock Tube Test)

SAF-GLAS has been tested by Wilfred Baker Engineering in conjunction with the US
Department of the Army.

Window dimensions were 50" x 68". The laminated glass tested was 9/16"SAF-GLAS annealed.

The window was tested by Wilfred Baker Engineering using its large shock tube to apply a nominal blast load having a peak pressure of ten psi and a duration of 22 msec. the response of the window was documented and graded according to the GSA Window Hazard Classification System as modified by the Blast Mitigation Action Group for the US Government sponsored testing program.

Under the applied load the glass and the window defended against the blast and were graded with a Low Hazard Classification.

Blast Resistant Glass (Arena Tests)

SAF-GLAS was Arena tested at the Quantico Marine Base in conjunction with the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
